The 7th Annual EasterFest has been postponed. Originally scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2020, (the day before Easter), it will now be held August 29, 2020, when dozens of churches, businesses, and non-profit organizations will be participating as vendors, musicians, entertainers, etc., along with over three thousand fair-goers, to take part in this annual event.
Though we were not able to celebrate at Easter, we will celebrate in the fall with just as much enthusiasm! Please join us for all the fun we missed out on at Easter!
The 7th annual event will be from 10am to 3pm at Garfield Park: The Fun Fair (with Food Trucks on hand), as well as three bands and other entertainment performing throughout the day in the park. The free big Egg Hunt will be socially distanced this year, with kids spread out and going from booth to booth to gather the eggs. Over 3000 eggs will be handed out!
There will again be Bingo at the Vendor Market inside Garfield Shelter and a Health Fair with demonstrations inside Garfield Gym. Various kid’s games and dozens of activity booths (including face-painting, Photo Booth, pony rides, petting zoo, pictures with the Easter Bunny and more), will be scattered around Garfield Park, inside the shelter house and inside the gym. You can even win a bicycle at the Ball Toss or CupCakes at the Cake Walk!
For safety reasons, signs and markings will help you social distance, and hand sanitizer will be available. Tables and restrooms will be sanitized regularly as needed.
Access to buildings and other areas will be monitored to eliminate crowding. Buildings will have one entrance and one exit to keep a one-way traffic flow.
Signage and loudspeaker announcements will remind and encourage everyone to observe mask rules, social distance rules, etc.
People who show up with symptoms will be asked to leave.
